Yarn options for Sweater #5
We are gearing up for Sweater #5, which is the Little Basic Cardi from Holly Yeoh.

This is a classic pieced cardigan with set in sleeves. There are lots of sizes and options for different body lengths and sleeve lengths. There are also 2 options for how to work the shoulders. I'm knitting away on mine, so that I'll be able to lead you all through this project.
Here are the yarn options for this sweater.

First up is Tributary DK. This is what I'm using for my sweater. It is a 100% non-superwash Merino that we hand dye in the shop. It is super soft and squishy and really nice to work with. We dye it in semi-solid colors, so you'll have a slight variation in color but it's just enough to give the yarn a little visual texture. If we don't have enough in stock in the color you want, we can dye more of it for you.

Tidal DK is also dyed in the store. It is a 100% superwash Merino. This yarn is also nice and soft with the added benefit of being machine washable. We have lots of colors in stock and with this yarn you have the option of choosing a multi-colored, variegated yarn.

Cashmello is a blend of merino, acrylic and cashmere. It is machine washable. It's also extremely soft but has good stitch definition. The colors are solid and there is a nice range of colors.

Madrona DK or Sueño DK are very similar yarns. They are both very soft and drapey. I think either of these yarns will give you a little more of a dressy feel to your sweater. Madrona DK is a blend of Merino, Alpaca and bamboo. Sueño is a blend of Merino and bamboo. I did my swatch in Sueño but Madrona DK is exactly the same gauge, so I'm confident that it will work as well. We have Madrona DK in stock but might need to order more, depending on which color you choose. The Sueño DK we would need to order for you. They both come from the same company and it will be easy to get. I'll put links below. Madrona is $23 per skein, Sueño is $19 per skein.
Como from Lamana is a 100% Merino that is very fine. This yarn would make a very light-weight sweater. It's a beautiful yarn and very soft. The down-side is that it comes in 25 gram balls, so you'll have more ends to weave in. This yarn is dreamy to knit with and to wear though. There are lots of pretty colors but we will most likely have to order it for you, if you choose this yarn.
Finally, Remix Wool DK is another option. This yarn is made with 100% recycled fibers and is a blend of wool, polyamide, cotton, and acrylic. It has a tweed-like and rustic look. It will give you a more casual feel to the cardigan.
