A lovely new yarn

A lovely new yarn

Alpaka Story is new from Schoppel-Wolle. It is a blend of your favorite fibers - wool, alpaca and linen. This yarn is so versatile and is perfect for shawls, tops, tees and lightweight sweaters. The color changes are beautifully subtle.

Here are some pattern ideas for this yarn

My first suggestion is actually two shawl designs from Joji Locatelli. I think both of these shawls are beautiful and would be perfect for Alpaka Story. The One Love Shawl has a pretty scalloped lace design. Traveling Solo has a beautiful open design. Either of these shawls would be wearable nearly year-round in Humboldt County. You'll need just one ball of Alpaka Story to make either of these shawls. Which one do you like best?

The Pebble Beach shawl from Helen Stewart is so simple but would look amazing in this yarn. I love a crescent shaped shawl and this one has 3 size options. One ball of Alpaka Story will make the small size, 2 balls will make either the medium or large size shawls.

The Virus Shawl from Julia Marquardt is a crocheted shawl that would be beautiful in this yarn. You'll need 2 balls of Alpaka Story for this shawl.

If you're looking for a lightweight cardigan, the Ochre Cardigan from Ambah O'Brien is a good one. This cardigan has some sweet little details but they aren't too much for the ombré colors of Alpaka Story. This looks like a fun knit.

All of the patterns I've shared are available in our store or on Ravelry!
